In my teaching I combine different styles of yoga while emphasizing the Sri Krishnamacharya tradition which focuses on a gentle method of practice, employing a technique of repetition and stay vs. static poses. I use posture modification according to the individual student’s needs. I encourage you to listen to your body and I use props to help my students get into poses. I also use music and aromatherapy to help you achieve a more relaxed state of mind. I focus on teaching yoga as a way to unite body and mind to get healthier and reduce stress rather than just an exotic set of physical exercises. I want to create a sense of a healthy community through my classes, and I want to help you develop an interest in yoga not only in once-a-week classes, but also to take yoga with you to practice in your home.
